(ORLAND PARK, Ill.) (WLS) --
Orland Park Police have taken a suspect into custody in the murder of a Brother Rice teacher.
Alan Filan was found lying on the kitchen floor of what officers believe to be his south suburban residence during a wellbeing check on Tuesday morning after failing to report to work.
Police say their investigation revealed that this was an isolated incident and the suspect in custody is an acquaintance of the victim.
[Did anyone fear this might have been the work of a serial killer? Was there recently a similar murder in the vicinity?]
The investigation is continuing and at this time, the identity of the suspect is not being released.
"Law enforcement sources said the suspect is an Indiana prostitute solicited by the victim through an online classified service."
ReplyDeleteChicago Tribune just updated...still no race or gender listed.

ReplyDeleteThe suspect is a juvenile?
And a student perhaps from Brother Rice?
The woman is 20 years old and from Akron and appears to be a mulatto working out of Gary IN.
