This woman is unemployed? Maybe she's on disability or is otherwise unemployable. Perhaps she was on drugs or drunk at the time. She didn't sound like a normal person calling in to the police; staying on the line so long as though it were a therapy hotline is bizarre. Her testimony is probably worthless but they might have put her on so the tape can be played for the jury in order to hype up the emotional environment. They'll try to use emotional appeals since the facts are against them.
