After a Week of Robberies and Murders Galore at USC, a Campus Cop Shoots a Trayvon Obama

Wounded USC armed robbery suspect. The media have refused to report his identity, so instead of "John Doe," we'll call him, "Trayvon Obama."

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A public safety officer shot a man suspected of robbing four USC students at gunpoint near the university campus Wednesday morning. [N.S.: Four at one time, or in separate robberies?]

The suspect was shot at Shrine Place and West 30th Street after the students flagged down a campus officer around 1 a.m. to report that they had been robbed by an armed man wearing a ski mask.

The alleged robber, who suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach, was transported to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.

The suspect is expected to be charged with armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.

[Did the suspect pull a gun and/or fire on the campus officer? Was a weapon recovered from the suspect? The foregoing paragraph suggests yes, but is hopelessly thin on facts.]

Two graduate students, Ying Wu and Ming Qu, were shot and killed near campus last week.

[Two USC grad students were murdered last week? That must be why the national MSM has given the story 24/7 coverage … not!]

A $200,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of their killer.

It was unknown if the two incidents were related.

  1. This is the usual vague, non-informative story on this kind of crime. The wounded suspect was said to be from Compton according to an LA Times story.

The killing of the two Chinese grad students seems to be unrelated.

Care to guess why neither incident received much of any MSM coverage?
