Food Hoaxers: Peanut Police and Food Allergy Fakers Exposed!

By Nicholas Stix

“As I’ve been telling you for years: ‘food allergies’ are a neurotic bourgeois affectation.”

For years, I’ve gone crazy, trying to find candy for school parties that is peanut- free. That precludes buying any of the good stuff, whose packages invariably say, in order to protect their firms against lawsuits, something like, ‘This candy was produced in a factory that produced some traces of peanut products in the year 1907.’ After all that, and choosing crappy candy, in order to submit to the peanut police, I get to the party and invariably, other parents have brought peanut products!

But no one ever died.

The other day, I had to take my son to school for a Saturday fundraiser. An old school mom buddy was working the junk food table, and recommended peanut/chocolate brownies! I didn’t buy any because my guys like peanuts, but hate peanut candy, and I’ve developed a hatred for sweets mixing chocolate and peanuts, but were those peanut/chocolate brownies popular!

And no one died!

Meanwhile, we learn of an entire school in Florida being held hostage to a single child’s peanut allergy. The school had even demanded that children rinse their mouths before going to school, if they’d eaten any peanut products at home.

Fortunately, the peanut police failed to take over that thread, where one reader opined,

If a parent wants to feed their child peanut butter in their school lunch, they should be allowed. The child with allergy should know not to eat someone else's food anyway. Where is the chance for contamination? Are peanut allergies really that bad that these kids will die if someone else is eating it?

This is really being blown out of proportion. I feel for those parents with kids with allergies, but when I become a parent I will fight for the right for people to be able to bring the healthy foods they like to school, not allow thousands to be restricted by one or two others.

I can die from cars. Please stop driving. Everyone must stop driving now. Driving bans. I could die if I get hit. It is the same thing.

PS. Automobiles are the leading cause of death for youth and teens. Not nuts. Look it up.

Cars are much more dangerous to our youth than nuts. Put this in perspective. We should stop driving, it is killing many more children than nuts.

Now I learn through the Toronto Globe & Mail and the Washington Post that 80-85 percent of the people who claim to have food allergies are frauds.

I can appreciate that there are more people with real food allergies than in the past, because modern Western medicine has permitted hundreds of millions of people to survive birth and infancy who in previous generations would have perished, due to their constitutions being too delicate. (As Western economies collapse under the Third World and racial socialist onslaught, and medical care goes backward, we are going to see a return to the older conditions.) But not the 20 percent of the population who claim to suffer from food allergies. Apparently, the real number is more like three to four percent.

Writes Globe & Mail blogger, Tralee Pearce:

Blogger April Peveteaux, who has Celiac disease, sees the research as a call to dismiss people who are trying to avoid foods that make them sick – even if they’re not technically allergic.

“I realize not everyone thinks food allergies are a load, but if you do -- you need to get over it. It's not about you, it's about the sensitive person's digestive and/or immune system.”

Should you call people out if you think they are lying about their food allergies? Or should people treat food intolerances the same as allergies?

April Peveteaux and the people who have hijacked the comment thread at the Globe & Mail need to get over themselves.

Peveteaux inadvertently admitted that many people who claim to suffer from food allergies are phonies, only to then demand that everyone accept the fakers, as if they really suffered from food allergies. People like her are why the rest of us are so skeptical about those who claim to suffer from food allergies. Another problem are narcissists like the people on the comment thread who scream, ‘I’ll die, if you give me food X,’ and then hysterically jump to the false conclusion that we must put a childlike faith in everyone who claims to suffer from food allergies.

I’ve seen moms on TV insist that if anyone within 100 yards of their kid is eating peanuts, their little baby will drop dead. Guess what? If they were telling the truth, their baby would have died long ago. They pass people on the street all the time who are eating peanut products, without going into shock.

If people who truly have, or whose kids have food allergies were honest and rational, they would be outraged about all of the fakers. That they are not is because: 1. They are narcissists, want this to be all about them, and do not respect other people’s rights; and/or 2. They are stupid, in being unable to distinguish between the individual case and the statistical frequency; and/or 3. They thrive off the power that comes from causing hysteria; and/or 4. They are sue-happy, and approaching the issue honestly and reasonably would limit their ability to milk their fellow citizens.

If some children are truly deathly allergic to peanuts, then peanut-free schools should be set up for them. They should not be permitted to terrorize the 96-97 percent of kids who love and thrive on peanut butter.
