Double shooting in Lancaster
LANCASTER — Christmas decorations cover the outside of the small house on Rea Avenue in Lancaster.
But just a few days before the holiday, family members are consoling one other.
Early Wednesday morning, two members of that family were shot and killed.
Police said around 6:30 a.m., a group of men drove up to the home.
"The two adult males who live in the location were heading off to work in the driveway," said Lancaster police spokesman Officer Paul Beck. "The persons pulled behind them and took them by gunpoint."
Shortly after that, a second group of suspects entered the house and fatally shot a 61-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son.
A 19-year-old woman and her four-month-old baby were also inside the home. She called 911.
Police aren't saying what the motive is, but added there are suspicious circumstances and that the family was targeted.
"This is isolated, a one-time call out here," Beck said. "This is a quiet neighborhood. Nothing ever really happens out here. This is just an isolated incident."
Investigators said the two men who were kidnapped were eventually released and are cooperating to provide information about the suspects.

P.S. Have you ever seen less information about a major crime committed by pros involving two sets of perpetrators and two sets of vicitms? A planned kidnapping and double-murder rate only 191 words?!
