Police: NW Side man killed at his birthday party, another man wounded

A man was killed at his birthday party and another man was wounded when a masked gunman shot them in an apartment in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood early this morning, police said.
The two men were inside a second-floor apartment in the 2100 block of North LeClaire Avenue about 1:55 a.m., when the gunman began shooting at them from outside the apartment, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
Harry Rodriguez, 23, died after suffering gunshot wounds, a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office said.

Both men were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Alfaro said.
The motive for the shooting wasn't clear and nobody was in custody, police said.
Grand Central Area detectives were investigating.

Hey for real I'm respectfully asking that you take this off. That was an innocent life that was taken trying to protect his younger cousin. He did nothing wrong he was a coach and studying to be a PE teacher. This is really disrespectul towards him. I personally know him and can't see how you could even see this as a joke and talk about something like this in that way.
