grand rapids police shoot bike-riding nEGRO--who cops say had a handgun; bLACK witness says, "there was no gun"; meanwhile, De'Quain is now dead
GRA: Last night (wednesday), grpd received reports of a man on a bike, waving a gun on grand rapids' southeast (ghetto) side of town, and when they got to his location, confirmed the report.
(black) interim chief Joseph Trigg gave a play-by-play:
"'police received calls from the public about a [black] man riding a bike and showing a gun. we responded and officers saw the gun and sent a k-9 dog to bite him. he continued waving the gun and despite orders to drop the weapon, he didn't-- and was shot."
Today, De'Quain Johnson, 31, was declared dead and blacks--who would not appear on camera, tried to make this incident something criminal on the part of police.
"I didn't see no gun," said one blimpesque negress, "he didn't have no gun," obviously trying to incite the black neighborhood.
More to come.

ReplyDeleteMOTHER OF DA'QUAIN JOHNSON THREATENS,"I WILL GET JUSTICE."
(WOODTV) As balloons were released at a vigil for Da'Quain Johnson, his mother told reporters,“I will get justice. They killed my son. This the last Black child that dies unjustly,” said Angelica Johnson. She led a group of people down M.L.K. Jr. Street near Neland Avenue SE Thursday evening.

“No justice, no peace,” chants could be heard from the crowd. People held signs with messages like, “We need justice” and chanted Da’Quain’s Johnson’s name. They released red balloons and lit candles.
At a news conference earlier Thursday, the Grand Rapids Police Department shared body camera and dashcam footage of the moments leading up to the shooting. It showed officers chasing Johnson, who was riding a bike, into the parking lot of an apartment near Eastern Avenue and Logan Street.

(GRA:This report is totally inflammatory.)
A K-9 can be seen attacking the man and officers order him to drop a gun before an officer opens fire. GRPD Chief Eric Winstrom said he believes Johnson was shot in the chest and that a total of three shots were fired.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died, GRPD confirmed.
Michigan State Police is investigating the shooting, and the officer who fired his weapon has since been placed on administrative leave, which is protocol.
Witnesses told News 8 that GRPD’s story doesn’t add up — they never saw Johnson pull a gun or aim a weapon at police.
“We’re tired of losing our kids at the hands of officers. We are tired of losing our family members and loved ones for things they did not deserve. We are tired. So I ask anyone, stand up for these people, stand up for your children, because yours can be next,” said one woman at the vigil.
Johnson’s aunt urged people to remember her nephew as a special person and a “sweetheart.”
“A wrong has been done. So we ask that you just bend your arc of understanding and look at him not as for what they’re portraying him as but as a young man that was somebody’s son, he was somebody’s daddy, he was somebody’s brother, he was somebody’s cousin, he was somebody’s fiancĂ©, he’s got a baby on the way. She will never see her dad,” Johnson’s aunt said. “He was a sweetheart and he didn’t deserve to be executed on the side of a trash can like he was trash.
“They executed Da’Quain,” one woman said, crying. “They killed him.”
After watching the video, Angelica Johnson told News 8 that she has not heard anything from police about her son. She believes the shooting was unjustified.
“I thought the justice system, the last resort was gun violence. But clearly, they missed the tasers, the batons and every other device that they could have used when my son, nowhere in that video was he resisting,” Angelica Johnson said.

DA'QUAIN'S MAMMY TAKES THE "LYOYA ROUTE" BY SAYING HER SON "WAS SHOT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD."
ReplyDelete(mlive.com)GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The mother of a man who was fatally shot by a Grand Rapids police officer said her son was shot in the back of his head.
Police said earlier this week that Da’Quain Johnson, 32, was believed to have been shot in the chest.
His mother, Angelica Johnson, said at a press conference Friday, Feb. 20, that her son was shot in the back of his head Wednesday in the parking lot of Eastern Lofts on Eastern Avenue SE.
She viewed her son’s body earlier that day for the first time.
“The evidence is there,” she said.
“Y’all couldn’t see it, but you will soon enough. But my son was shot in the back of the head. He was mauled in the neck by a dog. And the way he was shot … you could tell that his hands were being held behind his back.”
