    He's been an irritant to the Pope and Vatican for quite some time, appears they've finally had enough. Wiki actually supplies pretty good detail about his activities over the years. An ethical man in a nest of vipers. Surprising this hasn't happened before, he must be supremely competent and useful for them to have tolerated him for so long.
