You know what?There's too many podcasts.There's too much outcry,too much outrage,too much verbosity(a Howard Cosell word)and a lot of energy wasted.
ReplyDeleteI've been mentioning that humor,fun and entertainment is in short supply these days,in the movies,TV and radio(nee podcasts).YouTube is however loaded with clips or entire shows of Carson,Letterman,Leno and others,which I attempt to get at least a half hour of,every day.Rickles is excellent.I saw one yesterday with Joan Rivers guest hosting the "Tonight Show" and Rickles came out,looked at her outfit and said,"Oh,you must be my stewardess tonight.Where are we headed--Cuba?"
The great(White)entertainers of our lives,like Hope,Sinatra,John Wayne etal,have not been replaced adequately(or at all)and that sad fact,among other things,is weighing on this country.When's the last time you heard a great record?For me,it was about 6-7 years ago,when there was a slight rebound in pop music.That fizzled.Taylor Swift doesn't "have it" as far as I'm concerned,so the bottom line is without people being entertained,they get pissed.
