Two Things to Look for in Jake deGrom’s 4 P.M. Start Today in Oakland

By N.S.

1. His slider. When he’s right, number 3 is his best pitch, but he hasn’t been right of late. His slider has been erratic, and so he’s had to go much more to his curve and change-up; and

2. His stamina. He has tended to suffer fatigue in the sixth or seventh inning, where he goes from unhittable to eminently hittable.

  1. In other baseball news,Albert Pujois--who I thought was washed up 10 years ago--hit two homers in last night's game to reach the magic 700 mark.Pujois is 42 and I watched the replays of his roundtrippers--two quick swings, that didn't seem like the swings of a guy in the last days of his playing career.

Pretty good accomplishment, though he was never as good a hitter in the A.L. as in the N.L.

GRA:What the hell are those last 6 words supposed to mean?Is Heyman a negro worshipper--with gay undertones?Judge isn't "pretty"--that's black lingo started by Muhammad Ali.How many other negro athletes are "pretty" by the way.Mr.Heyman?Conversely,how many White, male athletes are "pretty"?

The answer to those questions--is NONE.Only a percentage of females are pretty(a few of them are even beautiful)--men are not.
