(ZH) Update (11:25 ET):
“Following earlier news that Russia will criminalize ‘disinformation’ about military in crackdown on ‘fake information,’ not that different from the wholesale ‘canceling’ and deplatforming of any Western media outlets that do not parrot the official narrative, moments ago the bbc announced that it would ‘temporarily suspend the work of all BBC News journalists and their support staff within the Russian Federation,’ while the news agency assesses the full implications of this unwelcome development.

GRA: The bbc is upset over disinformation? That's like Lesta Holt, earlier in the week, saying Russia was “spreading propaganda”—the black calling the kettle red (chuckle).

  1. Various countries of the 'liberal', 'free', and 'democratic' West have blocked both the RT website, as well as RT on various platforms, e.g. Telegram.

While I never visited RT often, when I did I always found the content pretty reasonable, not the extremely one-sided 'disinformation' you're supposed to believe they put out -- once the war in Ukraine started, I looked at RT a few times a day to see their perspective, and my opinion about the content didn't change.

From everything I've seen, if the West had treated Russian media fairly, the Russians would not have bothered western media -- I think the Russians are just retaliating.

  2. Andrew Torba of Gab on 'conservative' hero Greg Abbott of Texas:

link -- Governor Abbott of Texas just put out a video on Twitter about Gab calling us an “anti-semitic platform.” ... Gab is not an "anti-semitic" platform. We protect the political speech of all Americans, regardless of viewpoint, because in this age of cancel culture nobody else will. ... That means unpopular viewpoints may be found on the site. ... The enemies of freedom smear us with every name in the book because they hate America and they hate free speech. It's a shame to see a GOP politician fall for this trap when conservative values are under sustained attack all over the country.

I would never endorse everything I see on Gab, including what's said about Jews or anyone and anything else -- but I certainly agree with Torba's stance on free speech, and hope he remains committed to preserving it -- I know Gab is being pressured by the German government to censor content deemed illegal in Germany, e.g. 'Holocaust denial' -- all the mainstream platforms, including Twitter (the one I'm most familiar with) already censor at the behest of the Germans, as does alternative video site Bitchute.

But someone on Twitter reported that Lindsey Graham's suggestion, made on Twitter, that someone in Russia assassinate Putin did not violate their ToS.

Abbott childishly suggested liquor stores in TX stop selling Russian vodka.
