Grand Rapids has a murder in the original ghetto area last night (black on black-a 99.9% likelihood), and a March 11th car crash becomes a murder charge, as 16-year-old Mexican Alex Torrez will be charged with two counts of second-degree murder. He ran his speeding car into a car driven by a beautiful, white, Calvin College coed. The crash also killed his brother, a passenger in the illegally-driven vehicle. Black and brown—two different shades of murder.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are investigating the shooting death of a 52-year-old (black) man.

Police responded to a report of shots fired around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Putnam Street SW near Division Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found the man unresponsive outside a home in the area. Emergency crews performed CPR but the man was pronounced dead on scene.

It’s unclear how many times the man was shot.

Wednesday, Grand Rapids Police Department Sgt. Terry Dixon says the death is being investigated as a murder.

A K-9 unit was brought in to help track the suspect(s), but was unsuccessful.

No arrests have been made at this time and no suspect information is available.

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — A teen driver who led Michigan State Police on a chase that ended in a deadly crash in Kentwood is facing murder charges.

The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office authorized the charges against 16-year-old Alejandro “Alex” Benito Torrez Wednesday. The warrant is for two counts of second-degree murder in the March 11 crash that killed his cousin, 15-year-old David Torrez, and another driver, Calvin College student Tara Oskam.

GRA: No further word on any of the three other shootings (2 murders, 1 stomach-shooting survivor). Our cops are staying busy.

  1. I had a follow up to the 52 year old mans murder.Turned out he was actually white--in a horrible black area of town. His girlfriend of 20 years, called the killer,"pure evil."
He was shot in the back at a late hour.
    No leads or info.
I believe, either the next day or day after that,I posted a report on this man (his name escapes me at the moment) who looked like a cross between Hugh Laurie("House")and Christopher Lloyd ("Taxi").I'll try to find the story and post it.

  2. GRA,

Sorry to be so late posting it. I had set it up on a daily blog page, but started new pages, and forgot about it, until I stumbled back onto that page.

And I do vaguely recall you saying the vic was a middle-aged white guy.

GR has fewer than 200,000 people, but this is the sort of frequency of murders you expect from a big city. I know--you called it "Little Chicago." Unfortunately, you were not exaggerating.

  4. Found the follow up:
Another potential murder in hush hush Grand Rapids:
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are investigating an assault after a 25-year-old man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say details are limited, but investigators are working to determine when and where the incident took place.
    GRA:Also...

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The girlfriend of a Grand Rapids man, shot and killed on Wednesday is pleading for answers. 52-year-old Wes Carroll died early Wednesday morning, by an alley near Putnam and Ionia. On Friday, friends of Carroll gathered for a vigil.

"I'm angry, I'm sad, I'm hurt, my hearts broken because he was my man of 20 years," Tina Morey, Carroll's girlfriend, said. "You saw Wes, you saw me, we were always together."

But now Tina Morey is learning life without her other half.

On Friday dozens of friends gathered where Carroll was fatally shot to pay tribute to a man many can't believe is gone.

"He wasn't just a friend he was family," Ernest Jones, said. "I grew up around him my whole life, since I was a kid. He's a really good guy, I just don't understand what happened."

Authorities and loved ones are urging anyone who has any information regarding the incident to come forward.

"Please this evil cannot go on," Morey said.

"This is just evil. No one deserves to die in a violent manner, especially to be shot in the back, nobody deserves that. I don't care who you are, please help find this evil person that did this to Wes, please I beg you."
GRA:As I posted initially, the "evil" is most likely a black thug--as that area is loaded with ghetto blacks.
Carroll, who looked like a cross between Hugh Laurie("House")and Christopher Lloyd ("Taxi"),was definitely in an area white people shouldn't be in at that hour.I don't know how they solve this one due to the lack of witnesses and time of night and location.

(In the first story, that 25 year old died a week later.A black guy out at a time he shouldn't have been.
Same with Wes Carroll(who was white). You don't walk those streets at that hour.Neither crime will probably be solved).
