    Emerald Society as I recall is the group of NYC police offices whose ancestry is from Ireland. NO THING more than that.

    If a forgery then fraud is involved and arrest I think could be made.

    In NYC, there are also Emerald Societies for the Fire Department and Sanitation Departments, and transit workers. I believe all of them have excellent pipe & drum corps that plays every year in my neighborhood for our St. Paddy's Day parade, at least one of which is particularly wonderful.
