SACRAMENTO, California (KCRA) - California prison officials are investigating the murder of an inmate found nearly cut in half and stuffed into a trash can after a May prison riot.

Guards found the body of missing inmate Nicholas Rodriguez nearly cut in two and with many of his organs removed.
The riot happened the morning of May 4th at the California State Prison Solana at Vacaville.

Several inmates and a guard were taken to the hospital after a fight between two inmates escalated in a brawl involving dozens of prisoners and guards.
