Menasha police said four people are dead, including the suspected shooter. They said one person is injured and in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
Police said the incident appeared to be a random act. They said the public is not in danger.
The public is asked to stay clear of Fritse Park and the bridge. Theda Clark Medical Center was put on a controlled-access lock down after the incident. Another hospital in Appleton was also put on lock down for a short time as a precaution.
I can't think of any group that would want to randomly shoot people on bridge, or cartoon conference for that matter. Authorities never have a clue why people who aren't mideast terrorists could be motivated to act like mideast terrorists.
