SARASOTA (NewsCore) - A homeless Florida man was decapitated in a spat over spilled barbecue food.

Stephen Webber, 53, was barbecuing steaks and drinking rum with two other homeless men in a wooded area in Sarasota when he knocked the grill over, enraging Ricky Leer.

Leer, 48, grabbed a machete -- and began chopping at Webber's head and "would not let him up."

The third man fled the murder scene early Tuesday and called 911, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported.

Authorities found Leer near the crime scene, leaning against a tree drinking rum.

He was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder.
