“(zh) the supreme court on monday ruled in a 6-3 vote that former presidents, including Trump, enjoy immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct involving official acts during tenure in office, but he’s not immune from unofficial acts.
“as Bloomberg notes, the decision – which kicks the ball back to the lower court - ‘all but ensures’ that a trial won’t happen in Trump’s classified documents case before the november election.
“the justices, voting 6-3 along ideological lines, said a federal appeals court was too categorical in rejecting Trump’s immunity arguments, ruling for the first time that former presidents are shielded from prosecution for some official acts taken while in office. the majority ordered the lower courts to revisit the case to decide the extent of the allegations that are off limits to prosecution.
“justice Clarence Thomas also called into question the legality of special prosecutor Jack Smith’s office.
“President Trump said the decision was, ‘a great day for democracy.’”

ReplyDeleteTrump's enemies will say he's guilty, he's just being protected from prosecution. What should happen is that Trump gets exonerated due to the fact it was a politically motivated witch hunt. Then the racist negroes and their White handlers get prosecuted for staging the farce.
BREAKING NEWS:
ReplyDeleteSENTENCING SCHEDULED FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP IN NY "HUSH MONEY CASE" DELAYED FROM JULY 11TH UNTIL SEPTEMBER(IF THEN).
GRA:The SCOTUS ruling yesterday is throwing a wrench into, not only the sentencing, but how the trial itself was conducted--whether evidence given against the President is legally admissible after that ruling.
Also,as I posted,AOC has flipped her lid and is threatening to introduce articles of impeachment against various Republican nominated Supreme Court justices.
We'll see how that goes.

PRESIDENT TRUMP SEEKS TO HAVE NY "HUSH MONEY" VERDICT DISMISSED;ANALYSTS SAY IT PROBABLY WON'T HAPPEN.
ReplyDelete(ZH)In a letter to judge Juan Merchan just hours after the Supreme Court ruling - and 10 days before he was set for sentencing,(since delayed)Trump's lawyers sought permission to file a motion to set aside the verdict while Merchan considers whether the Supreme Court ruling affects the conviction.
That said, Trump's attempt might be a long shot given the fact that the Manhattan case revolves around acts Trump took as a candidate, not as president.
GRA:Closer to the election is the only difference.
