negro sets Pregnant, Raceless Girlfriend on Fire after “Argument”

GRA: Race of girlfriend unknown, but blacks usually only torch Whitey GFs.

DETROIT (fox 2) - A 26-year-old woman and her unborn twins are hospitalized after Detroit Police said she was set on fire by her boyfriend. He’s been arrested and charged but there’s concern that he’ll be back on the streets soon.

Police said Devonne Marsh got into an argument with his girlfriend at their Detroit home off Packard and Outer Drive last Friday, Jan. 14, and he doused her with lighter fluid before setting her on fire.

The mom-to-be is 6-and-a-half months pregnant with twins.

“How do you do this to another human being? I can’t – it’s unimaginable,” said Detroit Police Commander Michael McGinnis. “Just incredibly traumatic injuries. I did see pictures and I just...the pain she must be suffering, I can’t imagine.”

The woman has third-degree burns on 60% of her body, and is in critical condition. It’s not yet known if her babies will survive.

Sgt. Kyla Williams runs DPD’s domestic violence unit and says the pregnant woman was scared to report what happened to her for fear of retaliation from Marsh. A tipster reported the crime and the woman later felt safe enough to tell her story.

Same Story, part 2

(fox2) Marsh, a parole absconder with a long criminal record, was in court this week. Among his past are charges including drugs, guns, and assault. He also had warrants out of Macomb County and a pending case in Livonia.

He’s in custody on these charges, for now.

“We just hope that he remains in custody through the trial process so the victim can heal without fear of any kind of retribution from him,” McGinnis said.

Despite his prior charges and convictions – including violent crimes – his bond was set at $50,000 or 10%, meaning he could post bail if he can up with $5,000.

GRA: WTF? Attempted murder of three people is a $5,000 bond?Beyond unbelievable—and with his rap sheet. The judge should be removed—now!

N.S.: Every absconder should be remanded without bail, no matter the charge.

  1. >WTF?

The real 'WTF' part of this story is the following:

The woman has third-degree burns on 60% of her body, and is in critical condition. It’s not yet known if her babies will survive.

3rd deg burns are the most serious kind; basically, the skin is charred, blackened, destroyed, not reparable by the body alone -- grafts are necessary -- and someone with such extensive, severe burns has a low chance of survival.

This study puts is succinctly: In the modern burn care setting, adults with over 40% total body surface area burned and children with over 60% total body surface area burned are at high risk for morbidity and mortality, even in highly specialized centers.

Via a quick search, per other studies I found that tracked outcomes of severely burned patients, she has maybe a 1 in 3 chance of survival -- even then, her quality of life after recovery will be greatly diminished compared to what it was before.

    Yet the article says:

Sgt. Kyla Williams runs DPD’s domestic violence unit and says the pregnant woman was scared to report what happened to her for fear of retaliation from Marsh.

Sorry, but something is really off with this story: 3rd deg burns over 60% of her body, maybe 30% chance of survival after a painful, arduous recovery, and she's scared to report what happened to her? -- she's worried about what else he might do to her?

    This story makes no sense.

  2. With the time she waited to be treated--and the massive burns--yes,she would appear to be on borrowed time.Media loves to be overly optimistic about crimes and the condition of the vics immediately following the crime. The most ridiculous(example):

A man was shot several times at the corner of MLK Drive and NOI Blvd this morning.According to police, the victim was shot in both legs, his stomach, pancreas, one eye, both shoulders, near his heart and straight through his cerebellum.Luckily,he is expected to survive.

Four people were killed, after an argument about what day it was, escalated into gunfire.Deceasious Jones,Jacquarious Jackson,Rigormortious Davis and Tyronious Taylor were all pronounced dead at the scene,HOWEVER,two others were expected to survive.

    I laugh every time.

  3. This bad guy is really a bad guy. This event is no one time occurrence. The man needs to be locked up with a high bail beyond $50K.

  4. NEGRO POSTS $5,000 BOND AFTER TORCHING PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND--WALKS OUT OF JAIL

(FOX2-DETROIT)A man accused of pouring gasoline on his pregnant girlfriend and lighting her on fire has posted bond in Detroit, Michigan.

Devonne Marsh posted a $5,000 bond and walked out of jail in Wayne County, Michigan on Friday after being arrested two days earlier for allegedly lighting his girlfriend, who is 6 and a half months pregnant with twins, on fire and burning over 60% of her body, according to Fox 2 Detroit.

    (Fox 2 Detroit)

Marsh, 41, was released on bond with several conditions including being prohibited from doing drugs or going back to the scene of the crime. While he has been released from jail in Wayne County, Fox 2 Detroit reports that Marsh has a hold for charges in another county meaning he is not free to walk the streets at this time.

Marsh’s bond was set at $50,000, meaning he only had to post 10% to be released.

Marsh’s girlfriend, 26, remains hospitalized in critical condition, and it is unclear whether the babies will survive. She was reportedly too afraid to come forward and report the crime but a tip led authorities to the scene and she is currently cooperating with the investigation.

GRA:I had read that new charges would be filed to prevent this from happening.Obviously--not.
