  1. What the hell is the other guard doing - with some short implement?
Weren't there chairs all around him to grab and beat/isolate the dog with?
Aren't they minimally armed - collapsible baton, knife, gun?
They would have been in their rights to shoot the dog DEAD.

  2. "Excuse me sir, please lower the volume of your screaming, this IS a library."

    "AHHGGGHHGG!"

"I'm forced to request that you and your dog leave at once."

    "GAHHHGGGHHH--not my dog!!!"

"He acts like he knows you."

Analysis: The mutt was just playing with the blackies--a little fun, until his master woke up--that's all.

  3. They'll say the guard was antagonizing the dog, maybe called it a racial slur. They'll blame the guard. They should have just let the junkie buy the farm.

  4. Normally I have a negative opinion of pit bulls and despite their defenders claiming that problem pit bulls are a result of bad owners, you can find plenty of cases where a family thought they had a loving relationship with a pit bull--until it killed the baby, etc.
However, in this case, if seems the guards were trying to revive the owner and the dog seems to have thought they were attacking the owner and so took action to defend him.
I still don't like pit bulls and would never have one, but a case can be made that this one thought he was protecting his owner from a couple of blacks.
Our dog is a fantastic watch dog and charges off to defend the house if anyone approaches. But I let a workman in the other day and the dog was delighted and tried to hump him. Guess he is of the "make love not war" type, but I don't have to worry about him trying to kill anyone.

  5. The only way to stop a enraged attacking pit bull is to shoot the dog and kill it. Beating, sprays, etc. will never suffice.
