My aunt, who lives around Sutton place has been making noises about moving to Portland and getting away from New York. The unrest is only blocks away from her and she can hear the violence at night. She's terrified to go out on the street at any time. Doesn't matter that she has money, a secured residence with 24 hr. doormen, if you feel like a prisoner in your own home it's no longer comfortable. Imagine that, Manhattan is so bad she feels like Portland would be an improvement.
Those people just need to move and fast and never look back. NOW!
Amazing that anyone would be so uninformed that she thinks things are peaceful in Portland or Seattle. The communists have been raising hell in both cities for months. Or maybe she means Portland, Maine? But I believe they have a big Somali refugee problem in Maine.
