New York Times operative Farhad Manjoo is the newest winner of the Duranty-Blair Award for Journalistic Infamy.
Manjoo became a Duranty-Blair laureate, in recognition of his perfidy, as an unofficial Hillary Clinton operative, in calling on Google to censor stories covering Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s health problems, and raising questions about her physical fitness for the highest office in the land.

Previous winners are CBS News producer Mary Mapes in 2004, for Memogate/Rathergate; seven reporters and editors at the New Orleans Times-Picayune in 2006; ABC News reporter Brian Ross in 2012; Peter Berger, of The American Interest, in 2013; and Associated Press operative Tom Hays, in 2014, for his 2004 “Boosgate” Hoax.
The Duranty-Blair Award recognizes those journalists whose work embodies the spirit of Walter Duranty and Jayson Blair, two of the most notorious journalists in the history of the Fourth Estate. It is no accident that both men worked for the New York Times.
Walter Duranty wrote a series of early 1930s dispatches from the Soviet Union, where he was Times Moscow bureau chief, in which he lied about the Ukrainian Holocaust, in which Stalin deliberately starved millions of Kulaks (peasants) to death, through a man-made famine. Instead of reporting the truth, Duranty reported that the peasants were happy and well-fed, and was rewarded for his lies with a Pulitzer Prize.
Jayson Blair (here, here, and here) was an early 2000s black affirmative action hire, who alternately plagiarized reporters at other newspapers, and fabricated articles out of whole cloth, all for stories set hundreds and even thousands of miles away, while he sat in New York City cafés.
In 2004, CBS News producer Mary Mapes sought to win the presidential election for socialist Democrat challenger, Sen. John Kerry, by perpetrating a hoax, using forged Texas Air Force National Guard documents, provided by Bush-hating former reserve officer Bill Burkett, charging future president George W. Bush with going AWOL during the Vietnam War.
In 2006, New Orleans Times-Picayune reporters Brian Thevenot, Gordon Russell, Jeff Duncan and Gwen Filosa; managing editors, news, Peter Kovacs and Dan Shea; and editor Jim Amoss, won for their September 26, 2005 attempt to “untell” the story of the savage, black violence that befell New Orleans just before and after Hurricane Katrina made landfall on August 29 of that year (1,900-word version; two-part, 3,900-word version (here and here); and 9,900-word version).

There's a slew of TV programs on the 1996 Jon Benet Ramsey murder on the way. On Friday Night there will be a two-hour NBC Dateline on the subject. CBS begins a series on September 18.
Right after the body was found, the Boulder, Colorado police decided Jon Benet's parents had killed her and tried to build a case against them. It took 12 years for the local District Attorney to "exonerate" them.
DNA was found on Jon Benet's undergarment which did not match any family member, including her 9-year old brother (whom some thought was the killer).
The Boulder cops and the MSM thought the Ramseys were the perfect Great White Defendants. They fit the above parameters.
Remember the 1975 Marcia Trimble murder in Nashville, Tennessee, sort of the Jon Benet Ramsey murder of Tennessee? And the trial of the DNA-identified killer in 2009? The killer turned out to be a Black Muslim named Jerome Barrett.

Report: Illegal 'brides' claiming abuse to get green cards

The number of green cards being issued to alien brides married to Americans has tripled in one year, evidence of the latest bid by illegal immigrants to use the legal system to gain quick citizenship, according to a new report.
The Center for Immigration Studies, reviewing newly issued data from Customs and Immigration Services, found the surge among women claiming that their American citizen husbands are abusing them.
And under the current rules, any charge made by those brides is accepted by the government, sometimes without the husband even being contacted, and a green card is issued.
The Center described the process as a fast path to legal status. Immigrant women who marry permanent resident aliens, not U.S. citizens, have to wait two to six years for a visa. Those who marry a U.S. citizen immediately become a legal resident and get a conditional green card.
The data shows that the number of green card visas granted "abused" immigrant wives that married Americans jumped from 2,657 in 2013 to 7,600 in 2014.
"Were male citizens three times as likely to beat their alien wives in one year than in the prior year? Probably not," wrote CIS Fellow David North.
"Everyone is concerned about abusive spouses, but I find it highly unlikely that the actual incidence of spousal abuse among citizen-alien couples tripled between 2013 and 2014. What is much more likely is that the sleepy people at USCIS have turned a blind eye to a growing trend of fraudulent use of a provision in immigration law that allows an abused spouse to secure a green card largely on her unsupported testimony that her new citizen (or green card) spouse has been abusive to her," he added.
The practice isn't new, just the number of people who might be taking advantage of it, wrote North, who has followed the trend and even received calls from spouses caught up in alleged scams.
He described it this way:
Every couple of weeks we at the Center hear from yet another citizen, usually but not always a male, who contends that he was conned into marrying an alien woman (usually younger, sometimes much younger) who proceeded to dump him as soon as she secured the conditional green card for newlywed aliens, and who then sought permanent green card status by arguing that she was abused, and thus eligible for the benefit under the Violence Against Women Act. Routinely the citizen spouse complains to DHS, and routinely that agency decides on behalf of the alien, not responding to the citizen's complaints, often not even telling him of its decision.

The Qualifications for being a Great White Defendant

1). He must be white;
2). He must not be a black or Hispanic;
3). He preferably should come from an upper-income family;
4). He must be white;
5). He preferably must have committed some kind of sexual offense. That is preferred, because it camouflages the enormous disproportion of non-white sexual offenders;
6). He is preferably pasty white;
7). He can't be a hideous-looking negro;
8). He must be photogenically white;
9). He can't be an ugly Hispanic; and, did I mention?;
10). Above all. He must be white.
The reason why I'm sending this again, is that I went to MSN the other day and was greeted by the face of Brock Turner, the notorious (white) Stanford raping machine. His heinous act has been on heavy media rotation through most of this year now, right after that other monster's story, (white) Owen Labrie petered out. Of course, the majority of school rapists are black men, and most of their victims are white girls, but there is a glaring double standard in how the stories are covered by the media. Basically, when they find a viable “Great White Defendant,” all mainstream media services keep their stories in our faces 24/7 for great lengths of time, all designed to make the face of school rape a white face. Here are examples of the difference between black rapists and white ones:
A white University of Oregon student, Brenda Tracy, was gang-raped by three black basketball players, but the school covered for them and they never served any jail time. Yet, the world is howling about Brock Turner's “light” sentence:
Eighteen-year-old black man Jacori Scarborough rapes a 15-year-old girl in a school hallway. Thankfully, he was actually convicted, though I wonder how much time he'll actually serve. Note in the article, the courtroom audience broke out in loud sobs when he was convicted. All the blacks in the audience, anyway. Type in his name in google; virtually the only mainstream news service that ran the story was USA Today, though I don't know if the story made the newsprint edition. I doubt it. So where is CNN, Turner News, MSN, AOL etc...? They are all there for the Brock Turner and Owen Labrie stories.
Of course there are many more stories of black rapists we just don't see in headlines. We see the local stories, but they just don't get to the national stage, unless it's a Jameis Winston type of athlete, then the story might get some national coverage. Of course, Winston didn't get charged or convicted of anything, yet the howls of outrage that Brock Turner received for his “light” sentence were non-existent in Winston's case. Yet another example of racist double standards in our media and society.

A security guard at the University of Maryland was shot early Tuesday near its College Park campus during a possible commercial armed robbery, university police said.
At least one suspect was still at large, they said.
Officials said the security guard was shot in the arm and taken to an area hospital, where he is in critical condition.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. near the University College campus, which is near the large campus for mostly undergraduate students at the University of Maryland College Park. UMUC has a hotel and conference center, which is used for meetings and some of its graduate and night classes.
Chief David B. Mitchell of the University of Maryland police department, said at a morning news conference that it is believed the two men went into the facility and stole some safes. Some of the safes, which police said were portable, were found tossed across the street.
Mitchell said it is not immediately clear how the two men got into the facility.
He said the security guard was not armed at the time of the incident. He described the guard as a “tremendous fellow,” whom the department knows. The guard’s name wasn’t released but Mitchell said he had worked at the facility for some time.
“We pray for his recovery,” Mitchell said.

In 1964, Phyllis Schlafly of Alton, Illinois, mother of six, wrote and published a slim volume entitled “A Choice Not an Echo.”
Backing the candidacy of Sen. Barry Goldwater, the book was a polemic against the stranglehold the eastern liberal establishment had held on the Republican nomination for decades.
Schlafly went on to lead the campaign to derail the Equal Rights Amendment, which, with 35 states having ratified, was just three states short of being added to our Constitution.
Pro-ERA forces never added another state. Phyllis, who, at 20 was testing weapons at a munitions plant in World War II, shot it dead.
At 92, the founder of Eagle Forum has a new book out, published by Regnery. “The Conservative Case for Trump,” co-authored by Ed Martin of Eagle Forum and Brett Decker, argues that the Donald is an authentic conservative around whom every conservative should rally.
Yet, in making their cogent case, Schlafly and her co-authors raise questions that today bedevil the movement.
What does conservatism mean in 2016? Upon what ideas and issues, principles and policies, do conservatives still agree?
“In my father’s house there are many mansions,” the Bible tells us. So it is in the house divided that is the American Right.
Each of the chapters in “The Conservative Case for Trump” is devoted to Donald Trump’s stand on a major issue of the campaign. And on most of the issues selected, almost all conservatives agree.
Trump believes Antonin Scalia is the gold standard for Supreme Court justices and federal judges, and that among the indispensable cures for decrepit and failing public schools is competition from private, religious and charter schools.
A businessman and builder, Trump has confronted the onus of federal overregulation that stifles enterprise and kills jobs. With most conservatives, he believes in a U.S. military second to none.
Some Republicans, however, part with Trump on his contempt for political correctness, his refusal to observe strictures on debate laid down by our ruling elites, and his rejection of their claims to moral authority with his airy dismissals of their demands for apologies.
Part of Trump’s populist appeal is that, by his rebellious stand, he appears to challenge the very legitimacy of the regime. Thus those most disgusted with the establishment cheer him loudest.
On immigration, Trump shares the alarm of a Middle America that sees its country being irretrievably altered by an invasion from across our border. He has no hesitancy in urging tough methods to secure the borders and send back those who disrespect our laws.
This offends the sensibilities of many Republicans. And, indeed, it contradicts a core dogma of the “conservatism” preached at The Wall Street Journal.
Years ago, when some of us first took up the border crisis, the Journal, under editorial page editor Robert Bartley, called for a new five-word constitutional amendment — “There shall be open borders.”
The Journal anticipated John Kerry who just told the graduating class at Northeastern University, “You are about to graduate into … a borderless world.” Is John Kerry a Wall Street Journal conservative?
Chapter two of Schafly’s book deals with Trump’s stance on the trade deals of recent decades — NAFTA, MFN for China, the South Korea deal and, the daddy of them all, the TPP.
Chapter title: “Rotten trade Deals.” Yet, all of these trade deals had the support of the Party of Bush I and Bush II.
Trump has spoken out against crusades for democracy, nation-building abroad and unnecessary wars — especially Iraq in 2003.
And what was the official “conservative” stand on Iraq in 2003?
William F. Buckley’s National Review attacked the libertarian and traditionalist right that opposed invading Iraq on such flimsy pretexts as — “unpatriotic conservatives” who “hate their country.”
“This is a binary election,” John Bolton is quoted in Phyllis’ book. “[N]ot voting” for Trump is “functionally … a vote for Hillary.”
Yet that is where some conservative and neocon columnists and scores of foreign policy veterans of the GOP, and ex-Presidents Bush I and II, and 2012 GOP candidate Mitt Romney are heading.
Three of Trump’s rivals for the nomination — Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush and John Kasich — who held up their hand and pledged to support the nominee, appear about to dishonor their pledge.
But what is conservative about rendering aid and comfort to the presidential ambitions of Hillary Rodham Clinton?
As for the issues on where the right is split, interventionism is born of Wilson and FDR; noninterventionism is of Taft, Ike and Reagan.
Free trade as dogma comes out of the Party of Wilson and FDR, not the Party of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt.
Ike sent a general to secure the border and send illegal immigrants home. Yet self-described conservatives like the Bushes and McCains join hands with the Clintons and Obamas to call for amnesty.
“The Conservative Case for Trump” is a splendid little book by the first lady of American Conservatism.
The Hillarycons now owe it to us to make their case.

Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly, best known as the leader of the opposition to the 1970s Equal Rights Amendment, died Monday at age 92.
Eagle Forum, the grass-roots organization Mrs. Schlafly founded and presided over until her death, said in an online statement that she had died at her home in St. Louis surrounded by family members.
“Rest in peace, Phyllis Schlafly. Wife, mother, grandmother, author, lawyer, tireless voice of grass-roots conservative activism,” said conservative columnist Michelle Malkin.
“A woman of valor, a formidable friend and adversary, an American patriot,” said Weekly Standard editor William Kristol.
A polymath and a political combatant whose adversaries included communists at the height of the Cold War and feminists emboldened by the sexual revolution, Mrs. Schlafly will best be remembered for almost single-handedly derailing the Equal Rights Amendment as it neared ratification.
The amendment was approved by Congress in 1972 and within a year was ratified by 30 states. But Mrs. Schlafly argued that it disadvantaged stay-at-home mothers compared with their working counterparts. She formed the Stop ERA movement and established state chapters dedicated to thwarting the amendment at the local level.

In fact, it was a full blown “assault on Trump” day, as first Andrea Mitchell and then, Katy Tur, took turns trying to boost HRC up and simultaneously reporting on new Trump whisperings-as fact, “She had a press conference on her airplane,” gushed Mitchell, without reporting that a coughing fit closed that show down prematurely.
Then Tur, with particular viciousness, had two minutes of Trump innuendo and opinion, all under the pretense of factual news.
Lesta Holt took the day off today, but the bias shown on a regular basis during this “news”cast did not.

“Unfortunately for Hillary, her earlier coughing fit was not a lone wolf attack. Right in the middle of her ‘Russia-Trump Conspiracy’ lecture to reporters aboard her plane, she was forced to cut short her story by another ‘seasonal allergy” attack (odd, aboard was likely a heavily filtered air cabin), retreating to the safety of the front seats with the the reappearance of her African-American ‘handler’ once again. Upon her return she explained that ‘we went back and checked and this happens to me every Labor Day.’ Which seems odd... one assumes that any ill-timed meeting of world-leaders will have to take place in a hermetically-sealed room from now on...
