Yes, blacks, like whites, will have to pay the full admission price on MLK Day and Juneteenth. And the problem here is...what?

I have to pass the word on a clip of comedy from 1991's "In Living Color",which had Jim Carrey doing a Don Rickles impression at the U.N.
ReplyDeleteVery funny, spot on bit. I just ran into the clip today and thought(hoped)it was from post-2020--that maybe Carrey might have had the balls to do it in these times of woke comedy.
But noooo,34 years ago, when comedy was still funny.

Make sure you see the full 3 minute 51 second Rickles/Carrey clip. There are others with 3 minutes or less(censored to some extent,I think).

(1) Just stop it with the freebie gimmicks. Stop the special passes for the handicapped, for veterans, for elderly, too. Like the ticket booth was designed by the IRS. Besides, there's lots of freeloaders using Auntie Ethel's free pass and she's not even in the family car, they left her at the nursing home.
ReplyDelete(2) There's lots of confusion on those freebie days because the public can't distinguish "National Park" from "State Park", "Forest Service Campground", "Army Corps of Engineers Boat Ramp", etc.
(3) Just stop it with the federal parks, entirely. Hand it ALL over to the states and counties, no strings attached. Fire all the rangers and administrators. The states will hire as many of them as are really needed.
At least the states might stop some of this madness: the micromanaging sanctimonious envirofreak bastards on the public payroll make homeowners fill out a Dock Modification Request, a Dock Owner Transfer Request, a Footpath Request, a Hazard Tree Form Request, etc. etc.
Such as this $835 "administrative" fee. Outrageous! Like getitng an extra property tax bill.
