"Christmas Eve for the Americans fighting in the Bulge, and especially those besieged by the Germans in Bastogne, brings an early present as the skies at last clear and allow Allied aircraft to operate again."
My Uncle, Sgt. Irwin F. Simpkins, fought in The Bulge, along with about 1,000,000 other American soldiers. He survived, came home to study journalism on the G.I. Bill, built railroad tracks in California, went back for seconds in Korea, went back to school and got a master's in library science, and worked for about 30 years as a college reference librarian in Atlanta (1924-1992).

They were the greatest--what WILL. Then to come home and be great citizens in other ways. This country is a shadow of that now,but I think there are still many Whites in the military who are at that level.
There's are blacks and other types also, unfortunately.
