The killer's family had given him "the talk": If any white boy so much as look at you crossways, you blow him away!

This has been so common for generations. A racist black attacks a White, and then says the White "Called me a ni##er!" I've experienced this, too. They say that because there are whites, including prosecutors, who respond to such blood libels like Pavlov's dogs, and who then turn on the White victim, and treat the black perp as if he were the vic.
