  1. "Icon"??? I guess that's as worthless a term as "famous" these days. Who in Hell is he?

Dear N.S., I sent a post directly to your email- an obit for Jules Feiffer. If you never received it, let me know and I will re-send it (check your spam folder!).

    1. Well, here it is if you want to post it:

      https://www.removepaywall.com/search?url=https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/21/arts/jules-feiffer-dead.html

He was very talented, but, sadly, a lifelong flaming liberal. In the sample cartoon posted at the Commie Film Board by the vile David Colton (ex-editor at USA TODAY), Feiffer's "dancer" character dances in hope of "gun control" and "an end to racism." How can you live so long and still be so ignorant of life's realities?

He wrote the screenplay for POPEYE, which I always forget was made by Robert Altman- I actually LIKED that movie! Contrary to what the NYT says, unfortunately it was NOT a hit! (When HOOK came out, Robin Williams made a very sharp joke: "Brought to you by the people who made 1941, ISHTAR, and POPEYE!") (That's Spielberg, Hoffman, and Williams- and 3 big-budget flops.)

NOT mentioned in the obit, or anywhere else I'm aware of: Feiffer's MUNRO, which gave his career a big boost when it was made into an Oscar-winning cartoon, was swiped from a brilliant PHIL SILVERS SHOW/SGT. BILKO episode called "The Court-Martial," written by Nat Hiken. In it, a chimp is accidentally inducted into the army and no one notices; Feiffer changed it to a small boy being drafted into the army, likewise with nobody noticing that he's only a little boy!

      Nonetheless, R.I.P.

    3. I thought he was lonnnng gone already. Jules Pfeiffer, hmmm,a name from way back. "Popeye" was a decent movie. I never saw it for about 10 years after it's release, but finally caught the flick on HBO or some channel. I think it surprised me positively. Been 30+ years since I watched it though.

  2. Sounds like a money grab that never would have been filed if the defendants weren't wealthy. And there needs to be a statute of limitations on these kinds of things in general. 2018 and 2021, you're a little late to the game. And yes, I mean it, even for Cosby's accusers, waiting decades. At that point your only options should be tell it to God or tell it to the audience on The Tyra Banks Show.

  3. Gene Rayburn, asking to you to help a contestant to match the stars.

Fill in the blank: "You've heard of lawyers who are ambulance chasers? At Adam Horowitz Law, they're chasers."
