The metastasizing deep state and Turkey's similar experience

This article starts out reviewing our dismal and familiar scene. Then it jumps to compare this with the recent-years experience of turkey (interestingly spelled "turkiye" in the article), and thereby the author makes a real contribution. The author doesn't make an analogy with Israel, but I think we see the same phenomenon there, with its hyper-domineering supreme court.

the 'deep state' and the 2024 US presidential election: down to the crossroads

"aware of the deep state, will voters finally condemn it as fundamentally un-American? or will they disregard, or worse, embrace it—and thereby affirmatively consent to their own subjugation?

"since 2016, Americans have become increasingly familiar with the idea of the Deep State and its opposition to former President Donald Trump, whose victories in the Republican primaries and the presidential election that year served as a singular, if circumscribed, rebuke to the bipartisan Washington political Establishment.

Today, as voters prepare for elections in this fourth year of President Joe Biden's tenure with Trump again as the likely GOP candidate, they see even more clearly the difference between the way the U.S. administrative state actually runs in contrast to the formal American constitutional system. This subterfuge against the "rules-based order," the very mantra and creedal testament the Establishment professes to justify its preeminence, is a defining characteristic of Deep States the world over.

This brings us to what is shaping up to be the overriding issue for 2024: aware of the Deep State, will voters finally condemn it as fundamentally un-American? Or will they disregard, or worse, embrace it—and thereby affirmatively consent to their own subjugation? The country is at a crossroads.

If they convict Trump and as a result,he is taken off ballots or worse, passes away from the stress of the past few years, there might be an anti-commie reaction,in favor of the new GOP candidate--IF he's the right person.

How about Trump Jr?He sounds a lot like his father in various tweets I see.Lake from Arizona might be another choice.

Otherwise, there are a lot of zombies walking in America who will rubberstamp four more years of a Dem POTUS.

The recent directive to spell it "Turkiye" made me change over to all lowercase old-style "turkey". Same with "Kyiv" -> kiev.

The "Deep State" has been around long before Turkey in the 1990s- the Communists have pretty much controlled the U.S. since FDR's administration, even if most people didn't realize it. The advent of television as the dominant medium for news and entertainment in the 1950s gave them a propaganda forum undreamed of in previous history. -RM
