fake report about contaminated water in Jackson, mississippi, gives story "the haiti treatment"

The haiti treatment is when a media report about a problem portrays it, as if it were caused by the most recent natural disaster, rather than generations, and even centuries of black corruption and incompetence.

    SLOW NEWS DAY;nbc REPORTS THAT 48 YEARS AGO TODAY WAS THE SINKING OF THE EDMUND FITZGERALD;NOT 50,OR 45,BUT 48.

    GRA:Anniversaries that media brings up are bizarre.After so many years just limit it to 5 year increments.This is filler.The song came out in the summer of 1976--a #1 smash for Gordon Lightfoot--47 years ago last July.Back then,radio was still entertaining and Lightfoot's epic tale was heard every hour on the hour for a while--similar to "Hey Jude" in 1968,lengthy songs that let the DJs take a 7 minute break.
