  1. "In total, there have been seven domestic-related homicides in Fairfax County since the start of 2021, according to Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis. Six cases where sons have murdered their fathers and one case where an adult brother killed his adult sister."

GRA:The son's name was Axel.Figures--if I was named Axel,I'd probably be violent too.

No, the headline should read: "Columbian alien invader" rapes intoxicated woman.

  3. (... Paul Allvin, vice president and chief brand officer at George Mason University. ...)

At the university, Buschmann did research on making mRNA vaccines such as the COVID-19 vaccines less costly and more widely available with fewer side effects, Allvin said.

Interesting research topic, and interesting that it says 'at the university' -- seems this refers to work being done at/by a company he founded:

Mason’s Michael Buschmann and team at start-up AexeRNA Therapeutics Inc. pursue patents for improved COVID-19 vaccines

George Mason University bioengineering professor Michael Buschmann and a team of scientific collaborators have devised improved lipid nanoparticle technologies to deliver mRNA that could make mRNA vaccines such as the COVID-19 vaccines less costly, with fewer side-effects and more available worldwide.

To start a company, buy equipment, employ people, etc, you need money:

Working with George Mason University’s Office of Tech Transfer (OTT) to form the start-up AexeRNA Therapeutics Inc., ...

Maybe GMU was providing the funding -- ?

Buschmann, Mikell Page from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within Mason’s College of Science and Drew Weissman, Professor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania are the scientific founders of the Mason/University of Pennsylvania spin-off. The group also includes Mason postdoctoral research associate Suman Alishetty and PhD student Manuel Carrasco, University of Pennsylvania postdoctoral research associate Mohamad Alameh and venture capitalist and intellectual property lawyer Thomas Axel Haag.

Odd coincidence: the middle name of one of the principals of AexeRNA is Axel.

On his LinkedIn page (link), Haag is identified as the 'co-founder and CEO of C-Reveal Therapeutics' -- there is an hour long video on YT featuring Haag and the work of C-Reveal (USING THE IMMUNE SYSTEM TO KILL CANCER: A Q&A with C-Reveal Therapeutics founder and CEO Thomas Haag).

The YT channel belongs to NetCapital -- #WhatWeDo

Seems like a tragic Familiendrama -- but the backstory of Buschmann is interesting.

You ought to use tags and tag stories like this Stix, so all stories related to a specific tag can be recalled by clicking on the tag -- otherwise these posts just disappear behind the 'more/older' link at the bottom, likely never to be seen again.

Was the death of this young woman mentioned here? -- I don't recall.

Stanford women's soccer captain Katie Meyer's cause of death revealed

"There is no indication of foul play, and Meyer's death was determined to be self-inflicted," read a statement issued by the Santa Clara County medical examiner. "The County of Santa Clara is not releasing additional information about the case at this time."

So they're saying she died by her own hand, apparently intentionally, but they don't say how -- which will probably only fuel speculation.

Yes, Standord does have a rather strict COVID vaccination requirement:

All students coming to campus are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In addition, booster shots are required.

And yes, it does seem that the most 'liberal' places are also the most tyrannical about forcing you to take the vaccine.

Lastly, in what is now, at least to me anyway, a rather unseemly trend, money is being raised:

    Katie Meyer Memorial Fund

As of this moment, the total is over $140k; someone even gave $10k.

But they don't really say what the money will be used for -- nowadays, apparently it's a 'thing' to give money to people affected by misfortune or tragedy.

    And her death is tragic.
