2008 is about the time we stopped seeing SAT scores printed in our local newspaper every spring.The difference between so called White or rural schools and black majority or urban schools was even larger than indicated here.If blacks were even a third of the school's demographics,the numbers were amazingly lower than all White schools.

I've related the story a few times,of the experiment that the Michigan Education Association conducted,whereby blacks were sent to White schools and Whites from that school were sent to black schools for one year.The theory was that black schools had inferior teachers and the SATs would improve for blacks at White schools.Instead,the entire White school's SATS were destroyed and the experiment ended.
