MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Muskogee police arrested one man Tuesday morning after another man and five children died in a shooting.
Officers responded to the call of multiple people shot overnight at a home in the 900 block of Indiana, according to the Muskogee Police Department.
Police say officers arrived to see the suspected shooter Jarron Deajon Pridgeon holding a gun.
Police say an officer fired one shot at Pridgeon as he ran from the area. Officers caught him and arrested him after a short chase.
Once inside the home, officers found a man and four small children dead. A fifth child later died after being life-flighted to a Tulsa hospital. There was also a woman with life-threatening injuries taken to a Tulsa hospital.
Who were the victims? A man and five children died in the shooting on Feb. 2.
The victim may not have lived in the area for a long time, according to neighbors in the area, but many of them were able to take note of the large family that recently moved in and the young children who used to live nearby.
FOX23 spoke with the family of Brittany Anderson, 27, who is the woman who was shot and in the hospital.
Anderson’s family shared photos with FOX23 of the children killed in the shooting: Que’dynce, 9, Nevaeh, 6, Harmony, 5, Jaidus, 3, Jalaiya,2. Posted by FOX23 Sara Whaley on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 Three other children in the family were in the home at the time of the shooting but weren’t hurt.
