White Couple Disappears from Battle Creek--Car, Shoes Found

GRA: Battle Creek is 20% black--my first guess--and anyone's with a brain.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are searching for a missing Battle Creek couple on Wednesday.

The Battle Creek Police Department said 34-year-old Joseph Soule and 31-year-old Jaclyn Lepird were both last seen Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Authorities said details surrounding their disappearances are unknown at this time.

Jimi Soule, the brother of Joseph Soule, says he would never just disappear and is very concerned for his safety.

“He would never leave his family at all,” Soule said.

The family says the couple’s car was discovered after someone posted a video on social media of the vehicle left on Lark Street in front of a home.

“He doesn’t know anybody over there,” Soule said. “There’s no reason to park there that I can think of at all.”

Joey Soule’s former mother-in-law Melissa Macedo is trying to stay hopeful but fears the worst.

“His grandma called me two days ago and I immediately went down to his house and tried contacting him and then I left, then I called the police to make a missing person’s report,” Macedo said.

Family and friends searched Bailey Park along the river Wednesday, close to where the car was discovered.

“One of the people who was searching with us found a pair of shoes, and we took a picture of it. I took the picture over to Jackie’s grandma’s house and she identified them as probably being her shoes,” Soule said. “You can’t really tell for sure with the picture, but they’re the same size.”

Jackie’s second cousin Sylvia Villeneuve says her family became very concerned after not hearing from her in days.

“Jackie has a very bubbly personality. She’s very outgoing. She has a lot of friends, so her to just randomly disappearing is very abnormal,” Villeneuve said.

Jackie’s first cousin Ashley Lepird says the evidence is indicating the couple did not disappear of their own free will.

“I know how they left their apartment. They didn’t take nothing with them. They had bags of stuff, just from the store that they just left sitting there and not put way,” Lepird said. “They were definitely coming back.” --GRA

LANDLORD CONFESSES TO KILLING WHITE COUPLE(UPDATE)CLAIMS SELF-DEFENSE ON INITIAL SHOOTING
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A landlord is in custody after admitting to killing a Battle Creek couple who’ve been missing for more than a week, investigators say.

Chad Reed, 53, confessed in the double homicide of Joseph Soule, 34, and Jaclyn Lepird, 31. They were last seen on Oct. 7. Their bodies were recovered and identified Thursday.

During a press conference Thursday afternoon, Battle Creek Police Department Sgt. Detective Joel Case said they were notified Oct. 12 by family members that the couple was missing. The following day, detectives found the incident suspicious, which prompted an extensive investigation.

Case said the couple was living in an upstairs apartment on Post Avenue near Marjorie Street. Reed lived below them and was their landlord. Police were investigating at the home Thursday afternoon.

According to Reed, the incident started as an altercation between him and the couple.

Family, friends fear for missing Battle Creek couple
“From everybody that we’ve talked to — friends, family — it sounds like they had an ongoing dispute where they could not get along. They had arguments about money, they had arguments about you name it. So it was relatively common for him to be complaining to people that he was annoyed by them, didn’t get along with them,” Case told reporters Thursday afternoon.

Reed told investigators that he shot Soule after he pulled a knife out on him. He then shot Lepird as she was running away before beating and strangling her in the backyard.

He then admitted to wrapping their bodies in a bag and putting them in the back of his truck. Once family member started searching for the couple, he moved the truck with their bodies into a garage at an abandoned home in the area.

Mugshot is of Chad Reed, looks like an outlier case of a White landlord in constant battle with his tenants, who Reed says pulled a knife on him.The man with the knife was shot, but so was the woman living there too.

And you thought that all those pervert priests were whiteys? https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/portland-naacp-president-wont-seek-re-election-denies-sexual-misconduct-allegations/ar-BB1a4mwK
E.D. Mondaine is the local NAACP President who also happens to be a "reverend", kind of our own local Al Sharpton back when he was still roly poly. He's been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple males, no details about their ages though so maybe they weren't underage. I don't care though, if you're hitting on guys, in my book that makes you perverted. I think they're withholding as much info as possible due to his race, if it were a white man they'd be looking to assassinate his reputation as much as possible. He's the go to guy for the media when they want to make whitey feel guilty about anything and everything.

No, Battle Creek is 20% black. It is officially 18% "black only," but 5% "two or more races," a substantial portion of which would be "black and...," bringing the total to at least 20%.
