The interviewer isn’t too hot—she refers to The War beginning “in 1942,” doesn’t ask him what initially brought him to Hollywood as a teenager, and has no interest in his experiences as an infantryman in the Korean War—but Garner more or less runs the interview himself, and does a good job of it.

Note that this interview is not listed at Youtube. I had to do a bit of digging to find it, and would not even have had a notion about its existence, without the help of the late Jim Garner’s daughter, Gigi.
