That entire practice of "ringers" has been way outta control for some time. False address, residence, etc. A form of cheating that is used to build a winning team by breaking the rules.
The coach for the Evergreen Park team beaten by Jackie Robinson is the one who tipped off the Little League about the cheating. A white man. that man will now need some heavy security, his name is well known in the "community" now.
They were given a heavily hyped downtown rally and the news was full of breathless reports. All because they were black. I guess the idea is that here's a group of black youth who aren't into gang banging or drugs so they have to be held up as shining examples. However, they're young so give them time; when they get older they'll fall in line and start getting into trouble. They got caught cheating so that's the way the cookie crumbles.

ReplyDeleteI had thought that the Little League had a rule that once a team fell behind by so many runs the game was called.

ReplyDeleteQuite often these winning LL teams have one kid that is over-size and over-developed for his age.
