I fear that even a verdict of not to indict from the grand jury will not be enough.
The mob will call for a special prosecutor and the Governor will acquiesce. then the special prosecutor will bypass the grand jury and indict and over charge.
Seek a plea bargain from the police officer and not get.
Then years before a trial, an acquittal, etc.
A mess.
And as what Wambaugh said a long time ago, "it is what goes on afterwards that is the real crime."
